Family Law

The decision to seek the help of a lawyer in a divorce is difficult. Finding the right person with legal skills and experience to successfully represent your interests but who can also understand the complex and sometimes overwhelming personal issues in a divorce is important.

Susan Terlep heads the Family Law Department at AGF and has represented clients in virtually all aspects of family law from prenuptial counseling to the most complex divorces involving business valuation, pension, estate planning and multi-faceted division of marital property. She has been a regular lecturer on the topic of issues of taxation in divorce settlement, has been on the panel of several professional seminars dealing with other special aspects of divorce law and has been a Committee Chair of the Baltimore County Bar Association.

She has an extensive background in cases involving custody, child support, alimony and related aspects of support such as valuation of pensions. This allows AGF to help its clients get through what is often the most emotionally difficult experience of their lives.

In addition to divorce, AGF counsels its clients in all phases of family law including adoption and estate planning. The issues in family law are often intertwined with other important legal issues such as changing wills, estate planning, the sale of real estate or a business interest and a range of tax issues. Susan works closely with other lawyers in the firm to ensure full service to our clients.
