Azrael, Gann & Franz, LLP concentrates in personal injury, wrongful death, commercial litigation, business transactions and estates law. The firm, established in 1949, has achieved a prominent reputation in the field of complex injury/wrongful death, including airline crash litigation, assuming a lead role in multi-district litigation. The firm also aggressively pursues computer litigation and class actions throughout the United States in arbitration and court proceedings resulting in substantial recoveries for its clients. The firm counsels developers, banks, professionals and businesses on a wide range of legal issues, including mergers, acquisitions, estate planning, employment discrimination and family law.

Firm partners, Keith S. Franz, Jonathan A. Azrael and Judson H. Lipowitz have successfully represented victims and their families in other airline disasters involving Delta commuter flights including Delta Connection Flight 7529, a regional commuter airplane crash which occurred shortly after takeoff from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport, killing 10 passengers who were badly burned in a post-crash fire, and Delta Air Lines Flight 1288, a commercial jet airliner crash which occurred on the runway in Pensacola, Florida after an engine exploded during takeoff and penetrated the fuselage, killing 2 passengers.

Currently, Keith, Jon and Jud are litigating cases against airlines and security companies on behalf of several families who lost loved-ones on September 11, 2001 in One World Trade Center (American Airlines Flight 11) and of several victims who were burned to death in the Pentagon (American Airlines Flight 77) on that tragic day.

Sadly, in the field of burn law, too many victims succumb to the overwhelming assault that their body endures as a result of their accident. With this in mind, Keith Franz has devoted himself to the establishment of the Michael D. Hendrix Burn Research Center at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, named for a client of the firm whose life was tragically cut short as a result of severe burns that he sustained in an airline crash. Through his work with burn victims, Keith Franz has developed relationships with some of this country's leading medical authorities on burn injuries. Keith's hands-on approach allows him to provide an exemplary level of service to victims in need of a forceful yet sensitive advocate.
The firm’s attorneys regularly give their time and advice to victims and can answer questions about:

    • Victims' Rights in Aviation Cases
    • Legal and Emotional Issues Related to Grief and Sorrow
    • Legal and Emotional Issues Related to Burn Injuries and Death
    • Relationships with Compassionate Bereavement Organizations and Experts
    • Opening an Estate and the Appointment of a Personal Representative
    • Losses Including Permanent Reduction of the Decedent’s Power to Earn Money

If you need help and would like to speak with a lawyer, we will be glad to answer any questions you may have about our services.
